Feeding duration

In case of acute disease, regeneration of the intestinal villi requires the nutritional support to last for a minimum of three weeks. Lifetime feeding may be necessary/beneficial in case of chronic disease.In order to optimise digestive function, the recommended daily intake should be divided into several small meals.

Fermentable fibre intake (beet pulp, FOS) provides a source of nutrients for intestinal microflora which are essential for colonic health and motility. Mannan-oligo-saccharides (MOS) support intestinal local defences and also have receptors which bind to bacteria adhesion sites, so limiting their availability to pathogenic bacteria.
